Explain how you would use this website:
This website contains an interactive business simulation of a Lemonade Stand. The game simulates owning a lemonade stand and the risks that are involved. Students need to decide how much ice, lemons, sugar and cups they will need to purchase for the day to maximize their potential earnings. Other factors they must consider is the weather because it is an outside business which will effect their potential customers. Also customer satisfaction is a factor. The customers will tell how they feel about the product. Problem solving skills are essential to be successful in the game to establish the supply and demand to creating enough lemonade but not too much that it is wasted. Students will be able to see a hands on application of risk management, supply and demand. This will help students to identify these terms and their application.

How will students benefit from the site:
I believe students will benefit from this site because they able to see the direct affects with risk management and the factor involved in running a small business. Also how important problem solving skills are to see your business create profit. Instead of students being given definitions of these terms they are able to the direct action involved and their application.

Explain how your students would use this website:
This website contains a simulation game. The students are to use their business and accounting skills to help a struggling music label they will come up with a business plan to help save the music label from closing. The website requires that users have a membership in order tho play. The membership is free so i would create anonymous members or students to use in order to sign in. I would use this simulation game at the end of the unit so students would possess the pre-requisite skills to complete the duties requested of them.
Another possibilty would be partnering the Accounting 30 students up with the Entrepreneurship 30 students to work together to complete the simulation game. Working together combing their skills they have gained from a business and financial perspective.



Explain how this website would enhance student learning:
I believe a simulation game like "The turn around game" can create a collaborative project for students work in small groups. It creates a direct application of accounting 30 and entrepreneureship 30 objectives. Music is a among pop culture that is an popular interest among teenagers.

Explain how you would have your students use this website

I would use this website as a supplement to the students actually completing a dissection. The website acts as a virtual dissection of a frog. I would have students complete the virtual dissection before completing the physical dissection as a pre-lab. Students would have an understanding of the procedures involved in the dissection the materials they will be working with and the parts of the frog we will be looking for. The virtual dissection could also be used instead of a physical dissection if frogs are not available in the school.


How do you think students would benefit from using the site:
This site is a demo for a software program that your school can purchase that provides a advantageous science resource package; particularly for Biology. The program comes with different specimens to dissect as well as other activities and quizzes. This particular activity if used only as a virtual dissection saves the school money from buying specimens over and over again. If students are actually dissecting can be used a guide for the students. If the school subscribes to the program the students can extend their exploring of biology through the various activities that are available. This would enhance student learning because of the visual guidance that this website has. It gives students visual directions to perform an actual dissection or provides students with a pre-lab to perform a dissection.

Explain how you would have your students use this website

This website provides a virtual tour of the outer, inner and middle ear. Throughout the exploration there are explanations about each part and their functions. The objectives in the Physics 20 Curriculum for the unit on Sound states that students will increase their abilities to define the following terms: meatus (auditory canal),
tympanic membrane (eardrum), cochlea, auditory nerve, Eustachian tube. Students can do so by labeling a diagram of the ear. I would have students use this website as a guide to help ind the location of these terms and their functions within the ear. Students also need to explain the physical process by which sound signals reaching the ear are transferred from the outer ear to the middle ear. Therefore it is important they understand the functions of each part to connect them in the transferring of the sound.
I would have students work in pairs in a computer lab exploring this site to gain their knowledge and understanding of the Human Ear. This would be one of the first lessons in the Sound Unit. Students would ave a worksheet to help collect their findings on the site.

I believe students would benefit from exploring this website because it not only provides a visual of the parts of the ear but also provides an explanation of where each part is located and their functions. Students would be able to take a constructivist approach to their learning by the teacher providing guidance and the students engaging themselves in their own learning for this topic.

Explain how you would use this site:

This website displays a great demonstration of experimental probability. I would use this website to facilitate the entire class in an interactive demonstration. I would first discuss with the class the theoretical probability of each scenario, then have the students use the website to calculate the experimental probability.

For example: User the spinner application the theoretical probability will depend on the number of colors displayed and how many times. Let's say the spinner has 4 colors (all different). What would be the theoretical probability that the spinner would land on red = 1/4. Therefore we would experiment by spinning it 4 times to see how many times it hits red.

With each scenario I would have students complete more trials. I would continually be asking questions to help students reach a conclusion that the more trials we have in experimental probability the closer we get to the theoretical probability.

I would then try a spinner that contained two colors that were the same. for example, blue, red, yellow, green ,red, and yellow. Next i would have students calculate the theoretical probability of getting yellow. Then we would experiment. This would be a great activity to help reach the adaptive dimension to challenge higher level students.

Explain how your studenst would benefit from this site:
The Site collects the data as the students complete the experimental probability therefore having on hand the complete collection of data for analysis to be used. Students will be visually stimulated by the use of the spinners. This could also be a an interactive site used on a SMARTBOARD. That could be used as a class.

This website contains a survey that calculates approximately the amount of energy your house uses approxiamtely per year . It calculates your energy quotient and the amount of kilowatt - hours your household uses annually. I would have students complete this survey on their own. At the end of the survey it shows your energy quotient compared to the average in the United States. Students can see visually the enormous amount we use. After I have students realize the amount of energy our households use approximately annually. I would give students the chance to placed into a position of power in which they can control the energy.Then students can use this interactive simulation game called ENERGY CRISISThis is the simulation:"You have just been elected as Head of Energy of a country. It is your responsibility to minimize the effects of the future crisis on your population.You will be allowed to choose attributes of your country. A larger population requires more energy, but increases the probability that your scientists discover new energy sources. Similarly, you can determine the education level of your population. The greater the education, the more likely it is that your scientists discover new energy sources. Wealth, though helpful in maintaining your country, doesn't last forever. Your main goal is to find lasting sources of energy, not accumulate money. Finally, you also have the ability to determine the extent of your country's natural resources. These include oil deposits, coal mines, forests, water, and nuclear fuel. "

I believe both of these interactive websites would be beneficial to enhance student's learning because it directly involves their own households. Students can begin thinking of change in theirown households. The simulation activity helps students see energy from a more global perspective. I would move on from these two activities to a lesson on renewable energy sources. Helping students see the alternative energy sources.

Explain how you would have your students use the website

In the Math 9 unit on data management the students need to display data using scatterplots. Scatterplots are created using a coordinate plane and points. Students will need to become familiar with the coordinate plane. This website contains an excellent activity that is engaging and familiarizes students with the coordinate plane, x and y axis, and points. Students are asked to help feed Billy the bug and his quest for food. Students will be given and x and y value and are asked to guide him to that point where is food is located. I would use this website as an introduction to scatterplots.

Explain how it would enhance your student's learning

Students will benefit from this interactive website because students will become familiar with the common mistakes such as mixing up the x and y axis on the graph as well as the point. Also it is engaging and will reach the pre-requisite needed to create a scatterplot.
